Brief

A couple wanted a house for art, music and large family gatherings, with a pool and a separate guest pavilion.

Site

Eight acres of woodland on a granite ridge, with views west over a pond.

Approach

The main house is a timber frame on a stone plinth, glazed on the side facing the pond. The roof overhangs deeply to shade the glass. A covered walk leads down to a pool pavilion set into the slope. Most of the trees stay; the house fits between them.

Outcome

On site. Completion expected in 2027.
